If I play with it by removing and the telling it to backup again I can sometimes get the icon to change to Green. All the files nested in a folder may be green and backed up, but the parent folder still displays Amber. I also noticed that the colored circle icons showing amber or green seem to not be accurate indicators as to what is backed up or not. I was told that as long as what Carbonite showed as being backed up was larger than the amount of data on my "D" drive I shouldn't worry about it. I've done several Bomgar Remote sessions with CS, without it ever being resolved.

Sometimes I just browse the web with the Desktop PC (not even using my D drive at all), and Carbonite will go into a loop of attempting to backup thousands of files. I will notice that Carbonite however will show a status that maybe 4,000 files waiting to be backed up. The few drawbacks that I've experienced with Carbonite are that there seems to be constant backing up of files. With the help of Customer Support, I was able to configure Carbonite to only backup files on my Slave Drive (Drive: "D"). Carbonite needs to do a LOT better.I do like that Carbonite backs up my files automatically.
I note that I have wasted an hour of my life reading reviews of Carbonite online and all the negative reviews have a familiar tone. and subsequent emails to friends & family as a warning. Reference Rating 4.7 / 5.

Needless to say, a bill for USD975 from the computer guy (all the calls to the USA) PLUS lack of help from Carbonite adds up to one thing - GOODBYE Carbonite. Carbonite customer services offers a service but just not for customers in need. Carbonite throttles the delivery speed (even though it says it doesn't) - we tried to get it quicker in several places btw. Why? Well, Carbonite does not send out hard drives outside the USA. FIFTEEN days later - numerous telephone calls/emails to Carbonite and I received my SP4 back. I appointed a computer engineer to do the work for me as he has ultra-fast wired broadband. and I thought that my fabulous Carbonite service would get me up & running in no time.
